I love photography. I love preserving slices of time and history in the form of images. These images are the result of my camera and my camera's subject coming together at a particular point in time. I can recall each and every image I have ever taken - good and bad! Whether a 35mm film camera, a medium format or twin lens reflex camera, or now - my digital camera. Each exposure and capture becomes a part of my life.
Starting out I was using a
Voigtlander Vitessa 35mm rangefinder camera. After someone stole that out of my car, I began using the
Yashica TL Electro. Then the
Yashica FR series. I had the
FR, the
FR-I and the
FR-II. Then came the
Minolta Maxxum 7000's. Then it was medium format time. I began using the
Yashica Mat 124G TLR that my dad used for his wedding photography business. Then the
Bronica SQ-ai 6X6 with the
Metz 45CL-4 flash produced flawless photographs. After that was the
Bronica ETR-si 645 - again with the
Metz 45CL-4.
Then came the digital era. The
Nikon D100 and the
D200.
Now I'm using the
Nikon D300, along with the MB-D10 grip, SB-800 flash and a
Custom Bracket's flash rig.
In the studio I use
White Lightning and
Alien Bee monolights and modifiers,
Savage paper, and several muslins.
My main lens is the Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8. I also make great use of my Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR-II lens.
Three things to know about me when I shoot:
- First, I love to have fun and enjoy a shoot. I talk and joke a lot, and I love playing loud music.
- Second, I am anything but politically correct! (You have been warned!).
- And finally, I don't lie. If you ask me a question, be prepared for an honest answer. (Like, "Does this make my ass look big?" If it does, I'll tell you it does. I don't BS anyone....).
My perspective, technique and ability is constantly evolving. Hopefully - some day - my talent will equal that of my equipment.
Enjoy.............Fatal Beauty
The images on here look absolutely stunning when viewed on my monitor. And the music will blow you away - when heard on my speakers and sub-woofer. I hope they look and sound half as good for you as they do for me. (Photo above: One of my "A Ghost Killer" images. Model: Veronica, Location: Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island, FL (12/15/07)
