I love photography. I love preserving slices of time and history in the form of images. These images are the result of my camera and my camera's subject coming together at a particular point in time. I can recall each and every image I have ever taken - good and bad! Whether a 35mm film camera, a medium format or twin lens reflex camera, or now - my digital camera. Each exposure and capture becomes a part of my life.
I started learning with the
Voigtlander Vitessa 35mm rangefinder. Then - in quick succession - the
Yashica TL Electro, the
Yashica FR, FR-I and the FR-II, a pair of
Minolta Maxxum 7000's and a
Maxxum 9000.
Then I began shooting medium format with five (5)
Yashica Mat 124G TLR's, the
Bronica SQ-ai 6X6 and the
Bronica ETR-si 645 - both with
Metz 45CL-4 flashes
.Then the digital age - the
Nikon D100 and the
D200.
I now shoot with the
Nikon D800, with my
D300 as my back-up. I also use the
Nikon SB-800 flash and a
Custom Bracket Jr. flash rig.
My main lens is the
Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 and the
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR-II lens.
In the studio I use
White Lightning and
Alien Bee monolights and modifiers,
Savage paper, and several muslins.
Three things to know about me when I shoot:
- First, I love to have fun and enjoy a shoot. I talk and joke a lot, and I love playing loud music.
- Second, I am anything but politically correct! (You have been warned!).
- And finally, I don't BS. If you ask me a question, be prepared for an honest answer.
My perspective, technique and ability is constantly evolving. Hopefully - some day - my talent will equal that of my equipment.
Enjoy.............
